Meera Lakhani

Director / Educational & Developmental Psychologist

Welcome to a space that has been created to help you feel a sense of safety and stability. Within the walls of Inner Reflections Psychology, my goal is to help you become the best version of yourself, in whatever way aligns best with your values and beliefs. In my years as a practicing psychologist, I have learnt what it means to practice unconditional positive regard, lean into vulnerability and listen to my intuition in times of need. I am passionate about assisting you to learn these skills, but to also have a place where you can be heard, free from bias and judgement and assisted with navigating life’s inherent challenges and expectations. I will provide a space and the breathing room to challenge yourself, in a safe way and to help build you up and enhance your strengths.

The most important part of the therapeutic process is building rapport and creating a safe environment. Without these, therapy can be confronting and difficult.

I am warm and caring towards my clients and I prefer an intuitive approach to therapy, with reference to established paradigms as needed. I work from an integrative therapeutic framework, where I prioritise evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), attachment principles and trauma informed approaches, alongside person- centred therapies.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited too:

  • Anxiety and mood concerns

  • Self-esteem and imposter syndrome

  • Resilience and self-esteem building

  • Relationships and interpersonal concerns

  • Developmental trauma concerns

  • Stress management and emotion regulation

  • Therapy for allied health professionals

Fun Facts about me:

  • I am an avid dog lover, despite not having one of my own

  • I am currently trying to teach myself how to play the piano

  • I grew up in the U.K and moved to Australia at the age of 12 years, so yes I do say ‘dance’, ‘vitamin’ and ‘yoghurt’ in a British accent

  • I love exploring new cultures and my most recent overseas trip was to Japan in August 2023

I look forward to working with you and thank you in advance for choosing me to be part of your journey.

Knowledge of the self is the mother of all knowledge. So it is incumbent on me to know my self, to know it completely, to know its minutiae, its characteristics, its subtleties, and its very atoms.
